Shehu Sani, a former senator, has criticised supporters of Nasir el-Rufai, an ex-governor of Kaduna, for posting pictures of dump sites in the state instead of addressing the misappropriation allegation against him.
In a post made on X on Wednesday, Sani said supporters of el-Rufai have forgotten that residents and animals drank from the same pond when he was the governor of Kaduna.
The former senator posted some images, including a screenshot of a media report about how residents of Kukui community in Kagarko LGA of Kaduna shared water from a stream with animals.
They were asked to account for N423 Billion. They resorted to “Screenshooting” images of Rubbish dump from other places and potrayed it as that of Kaduna of today. They have forgotten their images of how People and Animals drank from thesame pond under their ignominious and corrupt… pic.twitter.com/YkyQOx78KS

Sani’s comment was a reaction to a post made by an X user, who posted pictures of dump sites to criticise Uba Sani, the incumbent governor of Kaduna.
The X user, who described el-Rufai as his mentor on his bio, said Sani has “changed Kaduna completely” since he took over as the governor of the state.

The relationship between el-Rufai and Sani has seemingly deteriorated in the last couple of months.

Sani alleged that the el-Rufai-led administration left huge debts and liabilities.
Subsequently, the Kaduna house of assembly recommended that el-Rufai be probed over alleged N423 billion misappropriation.
El-Rufai had denied the allegations and taken legal action against the state house of assembly.
