Jose Peseiro, Super Eagles head coach, says he is “not happy” with the team’s performance in the 3-2 victory over Mozambique on Monday.
Speaking with journalists after the game, the Portuguese demanded “more concentration” from the players.
The Eagles had to come from a goal down to defeat Mozambique at the Estadio Municipal De Albufeira, Portimao, Portugal.
Goals from Terem Moffi, Frank Onyeka and Moses Simon ensure the team’s first international friendly win in five years.

The last time the Eagles won a friendly match was in 2019 against Egypt.
Despite the broken jinx, Peseiro said Nigeria deserved “much more” against the Mozambicans.
He berated the Eagles for “too many poor passes, poor crosses and poor finishing”, adding that “we could have scored eight goals”.

“First of all, I am happy that after 15 friendly matches, we finally got a win for the first time in four years,” the Portuguese said.
“I think we deserved much more from this game [against Mozambique]. It was easy playing against ten men, but when we were 3-1 up, I did not like the performance in the second half. We commanded the game, but we lost concentration at some point. We played better than this result.
“We were better than this team [Mozambique]. I think my players felt it was easy. I am not happy with the performance of the players.
“We did not manage the game well. We had too many poor passes, poor crosses and poor finishing, which I do not like.

“We should have scored more goals; we created so many chances, and we could have scored eight goals. We played better than this performance. My players need to stay more concentrated.”
The Super Eagles’ next game is a 2026 World Cup qualification match against Lesotho, billed for November 13.
