Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra, is seeking support for the United Kingdom’s Labour Party (LP) ahead of the country’s general election.
The UK elections are scheduled for July 4.
In May, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced that he would dissolve the parliament on May 30.
Keir Starmer is the LP’s candidate for prime minister in the election.

In a post on his official X page on Tuesday, Obi, the presidential candidate of the LP in Nigeria’s 2023 elections, shared an image with the inscription, “Change will only happen if you vote for it.”
In the accompanying caption, he wrote, “Vote Labour on Thursday, July 4”.
Labour and the Conservatives are the two political parties that have dominated the UK’s political space.

The Conservatives are led by Sunak, who took over from Liz Truss in October 2022.
The party has been in power for the past 14 years, appointing five prime ministers, while the last Labour government was headed by Gordon Brown, who led the UK from 2007 to 2010.
Starmer has served as the leader of the Labour Party since 2020.
The 61-year-old politician has been a member of parliament (MP) for Holborn and St. Pancras from 2015 to 2024.
