Before now, the name DCP Abba Kyari commanded respect among Nigerians and evoked fear in the minds of criminals, but in the last 24 hours, his name has been associated with fraud as a result of documents by the US authorities linking him with Hushpuppi, suspected fraudster and Instagram celebrity.
Hushpuppi, whose real name is Ramon Abbas, had alleged that he bribed Kyari, a deputy commissioner of police (DCP), to arrest a co-fraudster.
The crack investigator, however, dismissed Hushpuppi’s claim, saying he did not receive any money from the socialite as alleged.
TheCable reported that the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had secured a court order for Kyari’s arrest following his indictment in the confessional statements made by Hushpuppi.

However, in a new development, Usman Alkali Baba, the inspector-general of police (IGP), ordered an internal probe of the allegations against Kyari.

From posting his achievements, to sharing photos of his friends and families, Kyari posts virtually all his social activities on Instagram.
