Abba Yusuf, governor of Kano, ordered the demolition of a roundabout structure located near the government house.
During his inaugural speech on May 29, Yusuf had directed security agents to commence demolition of structures believed to have been “illegally” built by the previous administration.
The governor had said the demolition exercise was part of the fulfillment of his campaign promise to “restore” the urban development masterplan of the city.
TheCable had earlier reported that Rabiu Kwankwaso, former governor of Kano and Abdullahi Ganduje, immediate past governor, had separately met President Bola Tinubu on the demolition issue in the state.

Despite the meeting, the demolition exercise continues in the state as the roundabout adored by many residents constructed near the Kano government house has been demolished.
Since the new government assumed office, many structures have been demolished and revoked.
Some of the structures demolished so far include a three-storey building with 90 shops located at Nasarawa GRA, shops built by the fence of Sani Abacha Stadium at Kofar Mata, and buildings by GGSS Dukawuya, Goron Dutse.

Others are the building at the Kano hajj camp and the Daula Hotel, among others.
