President Muhammadu Buhari received Nana Akufo-Addo, president of Ghana, at the presidential villa on Thursday.
The development comes a day after the Ghanaian government cut the salaries of appointees by 30 percent as part of measures to mitigate economic hardships.
While addressing journalists at a media briefing on Thursday, Ken Ofori-Atta, Ghana’s finance minister, also announced a 50 percent cut in fuel coupon allocations for all political appointees and heads of government institutions, including state-owned enterprises (SOEs), effective April 1, 2022.
