A section of the market was gutted by fire around 8pm on Thursday.

The cause of the inferno has not been ascertained.
Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, director-general of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), on Friday, said the agency will investigate the cause of the inferno.
When TheCable visited the market on Friday morning, the affected section was cordoned off by LASEMA officials and police officers to prevent hoodlums from looting the unaffected section of the market.
