Aishah Ahmad, deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), on Saturday, celebrated the 100th birthday of her late grandmother, Florence Bamidele Makanjoula.
The event, which held in Lagos, had in attendance Kayode Fayemi, governor of Ekiti, and his Niger counterpart, Abubakar Bello.
Also in attendance were Julius Adelusi-Adeluyi, chairman of the MTN Foundation, who chaired the event.
The event, organised by the Opekete Foundation, included a roundtable with the theme, ‘Fixing Girl-child Education: The Next Frontier’, as well as the launch of the ‘Florence Fund’.

Ronke Onadeko was the moderator of the roundtable, while Ola Brown, Mario Mandara, and Chinenye Mba-Uzoukwu were panelists.
The event also featured the pre-launch of Makanjuola’s autobiography titled, ‘Enduring Legacy’.
