Lucky Aiyedatiwa, deputy governor of Ondo, on Thursday, presided over the state executive council (SEC) meeting.
This is the first state executive council meeting to be held in the last three months.
The meeting took place at the exco chamber of the governor’s office in Akure, Ondo capital.
The development comes less than a week after President Bola Tinubu intervened in the rift between Rotimi Akeredolu, the governor, and Aiyedatiwa.

Akeredolu has been in a cold war with Aiyedatiwa since he returned to Nigeria in September after a three-month medical leave in Germany.
Akeredolu’s frosty relationship with Aiyedatiwa culminated in an attempted impeachment of the latter.
Since returning to Nigeria, Akeredolu has reportedly been carrying out his constitutional duties as governor of Ondo from Ibadan, the Oyo capital.

Speaking after the meeting, Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, the commissioner for information and orientation, said several issues were discussed at the meeting.
He added that the cabinet members all agreed to embrace peace.
“We discussed the issue of the key decision (resolutions reached at the meeting with the president) that there must be peace,” Ademola-Olateju said.
“That the status quo must remain; that there would be no dissolution of the exco members; that the deputy governor should write an undated letter of resignation; that the house of assembly must not be tampered with; that the party executive must remain. We all agreed to embrace peace.”
