PHOTOS: Ambode’s supporters storm Lagos assembly over impeachment move

A pro-Ambode group staged a rally at the state house of assembly over the lawmakers move to impeach the governor.

On Monday, the lawmakers had accused Akinwunmi Ambode, the governor, of incurring expenditure from the 2019 budget without presenting it to the assembly.

Majority of the lawmakers at the plenary called for the impeachment of the governor while a few asked him to resign.

But Declan Ihekaire, secretary of the Lagos Peoples’ Assembly (LPA), led protesters to the assembly on Wednesday.

They asked the legislators to back down on the plot to oust the governor.
