Candidates contesting in the Anambra governorship election, on Thursday, signed a pact to promote peace in the state.
The election is scheduled to hold on Saturday.
Among those present at the signing of the peace pact in Awka, the Anambra capital, were Mahmood Yakubu, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC); Abdulsalami Abubakar, former head of state; and Matthew Kukah, bishop of the Catholic diocese of Sokoto.
Heads of security agencies and traditional rulers were also present at the event.
