The Nigerian army has begun airlifting troops of Operation Hadin Kai, stationed in the northeast, for their annual leave.
In a post on X on Thursday, the Army announced that the troops were being flown from Maiduguri airport to various destinations on a chartered Valuejet aircraft.

This airlift is part of Taoreed Lagbaja’s, chief of army staff’s bi-monthly welfare flights initiative.
“It is a secure, fast, and reliable way for the gallant warriors to travel down and reconnect with their families,” the post reads.
