Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and other leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday attended the party’s governorship campaign rally in Benin City, the capital of Edo.
Abubakar asked Edo residents to cast their votes for Asue Ighodalo, the candidate of the PDP.
The off-cycle governorship election in the state is scheduled to be held on September 21.
Godwin Obaseki, the governor of Edo; Aminu Tambuwal, senator representing Sokoto south; Ifeanyi Okowa, former governor of Delta; Donald Duke, former governor of Cross River; Adolphus Wabara, former president of the senate; and stakeholders of the party were present at the event.
