Officials from the United Nations (UN) and the African Union (AU) were present at the second Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) meeting on the crisis in Niger Republic.
The extraordinary meeting held on Thursday in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city.
Participants deliberated on how to proceed after the military junta in Niger defied the bloc’s deadline on Sunday and failed to relinquish power to democratically elected President Mohamed Bazoum.
