PHOTOS: Awwal Gambo hands over to new naval chief Ogalla

Awwal Gambo, outgoing chief of naval staff, on Friday, handed over to Emmanuel Ogalla, his successor.

The handing-over ceremony took place at the naval headquarters in Abuja.

Earlier in the week, there were reports that Gambo refused to hand over to Ogalla.

However, the Nigerian Navy refuted the claims, stating that the process of handing over to a new administration is “procedural”.

“Suffice to state that handing and taking over ceremony in the Nigerian navy from inception is procedural,” Adedotun Ayo-Vaughan, spokesperson of the navy, had said in a statement.
