PHOTOS: Babs Omotowa holds book reading for ‘From Storeroom to Boardroom’ in Lagos

On Monday, Babs Omotowa, former managing director of Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG), had a reading and signing of his book, ‘From Storeroom to Boardroom: How integrity and courage shape global business’.

The book reading was held at Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

In the autobiography, Omotowa chronicled his journey from a rural Nigerian village to a top job in a global corporation. He also shed light on the challenges, opportunities and issues people face creating positive organisational and societal impact, equality and equity in global business.

Panelists at the event include Austin Avuru, founder and executive chairman of AA Holdings; Godswill Ihetu, former managing director, NLNG; and Tonye Cole, co-founder and former group executive director of Sahara Group.

Others include Isah Inuwa, a former deputy managing director of NLNG and Waziri Adio, former executive secretary of Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), who joined virtually.

Speaking with journalists at the event, Omotowa urged parents to instil right values in their children early in life.

The author said this would teach them contentment and make them incorruptible.

He said the values of hard work, courage and integrity he picked up early in his life from his parents helped him to bring transformation in his career path from the bottom to the top.
