Heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds in parts of Accra, Ghana’s capital, have sent billboards careening into busy roads.
Some streets were also flooded following the Monday rains.
Two billboards mounted at the Korle Bu road collapsed few metres apart.
No casualties were recorded and police officers from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department arrived at the scene to control traffic.

The development comes about a week after heavy rains with equally strong winds blew billboards down and fell some traffic lights in Accra.
Many trees were equally uprooted by the downpour.
Heavy rains have been recorded across the continent this season, claiming hundreds of lives and displacing thousands.

Climate experts have blamed the occurrence on the combined effects of El Niño — a climate pattern that originates in the Pacific Ocean along the equator and impacts weather all over the world — and the ongoing rainy season being experienced on the continent.
The United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) had expressed concerns about the rains, which have flooded many communities, saying they expose gaps in preparedness and early action.
Here are some photos from Accra.
