President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday met with governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The meeting was held at the federal executive council (FEC) chamber at the presidential villa in the federal capital territory (FCT).

Abubakar Bagudu, governor of Kebbi and chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF); Kayode Fayemi, governor of Ekiti, and Abubakar Badaru, governor of Jigawa, were present at the meeting.
Also, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos, Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun, Abubakar Sani Bello, governor of Niger, Abdullahi Sule, governor of Nasarawa, and Eric Igwe, deputy governor of Ebonyi, were in attendance.

The details of the meeting were not disclosed as none of the governors was willing to speak with journalists.
The meeting is coming about four weeks to the commencement of presidential campaign activities of the various political parties ahead of the 2023 polls.
Bola Tinubu, standard bearer of the ruling party, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi of the Labour, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) are some of the candidates seeking the mandate of Nigerians at the polls.
