Nigeria’s fallen heroes were honoured in different parts of the country on Sunday in commemoration of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
The annual celebration, which holds every January 15, features parade by armed forces across the 36 states and the federal capital territory (FCT), and the laying of wreaths.
In Abuja, President Muhammadu Buhari presided over the ceremony at Eagle Square.
Vice-President Yemi Osinabjo; Ahmad Lawan, senate president; Femi Gbajabiamila, speaker of the house of representatives; Olukayode Ariwoola, chief justice of Nigeria, heads of security agencies and other dignitaries were present.
