President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday paid a visit to the family of Ernest Shonekan, the deceased former head of the interim national government.
President Buhari visited the Ikoyi, Lagos residence of Shonekan to commiserate with his family.
He was accompanied by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos state governor, Dapo Abiodun, Ogun governor, and Mai Mala Buni, his Yobe counterpart.
Shonekan died in Lagos on Tuesday at the age of 85.

He was at the helm of affairs in Nigeria between August 26 and November 17, 1993, after Ibrahim Babangida stepped aside as military president.
