President Muhammadu Buhari is currently presiding over the national security council (NSC) meeting.
The meeting is taking place at the council chambers, state house, Abuja.
Among those present are Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Boss Mustapha, secretary to the government of the federation; Ibrahim Gambari, chief of staff to the president, and Babagana Monguno, the national security adviser (NSA).
Also in attendance are Abubakar Malami, the attorney-general and minister of justice; Rauf Aregbesola, minister of interior; Geoffrey Onyema, minister of foreign affairs; Mohammed Maigari Dingyadi, minister of police affairs, and Bashir Magashi, minister of defence.

Lucky Irabor, the chief of defence staff; Farouk Yahaya, chief of army staff; Awwal Gambo, chief of naval staff; Isiaka Oladayo Amao, chief of air staff, and Samuel Adebayo, chief of defence intelligence, are also present at the meeting.
Also in attendance are Alkali Baba Usman, the inspector-general of police; Yusuf Bichi, the director-general of the Department of State Service (DSS); and Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, the director-general of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).
