There was chaos at Dutse market, a satellite town in the federal capital territory (FCT), on Tuesday, as traders and members of the FCT task force clashed over the demolition of shops.
The task force arrived at Dutse modern market to demolish illegal structures built around complex after a quit notice was served on the traders last week.
But violence broke out as the demolition exercise commenced.
The traders chased the team away and set ablaze a temporary office of the task force. They also lit bonfire on the road leading to the market.

Activities in the market have been paralysed but policemen have been deployed in the area to restore peace.
