The Ebonyi government has provided Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses for workers and students in parts of the state.
The government said this is part of measures to cushion the effect of petrol subsidy removal on residents.
The buses were deployed to convey workers and students to the centenary city and various campuses of tertiary institutions.
Francis Nwifuru, Ebonyi governor, who announced the initiative on his verified Facebook page, said the buses are free of charge.

“This morning, they were deployed to convey workers and students to the Centenary City and various campuses of Ebonyi State University, College of Education Ikwo and FUNAI,” he said.
”Let me reiterate that no worker or student is expected to pay any dime for this. It is FREE OF CHARGE. We will continue to serve Ebonyi people according to their needs.”
The CNG buses were manufactured by Innoson Vehicle Motors (IVM).
