Kayode Egbetokun, inspector-general of police (IGP), met with his predecessors on Wednesday to discuss “groundbreaking” policies.
The meeting took place at the force headquarters in Abuja.
The former IGPs who attended the meeting were Aliyu Attah, Sunday Ehindero, Mike Okiro, Mohammed Abubakar, and Alkali Baba Usman.
In a statement, Muyiwa Adejobi, force spokesperson, said the meeting was initiated to “facilitate a meaningful dialogue for the purpose of fortifying the foundation of effective policing in Nigeria”.

Adejobi said the former IGPs shared “insights and valuable experiences” with members of the force management team.
He said Egbetokun commended the former IGPs for their “invaluable contributions” to the force.
