A bridge in the Pategi LGA of Kwara state has collapsed following heavy rainfall and flooding in the state.
The bridge was said to have collapsed on Tuesday.
Speaking during a visit to the area, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, governor of Kwara, assured the people of Pategi that an immediate solution would be provided.
The governor, who was represented by Kayode Alabi, his deputy, said because of the economic importance of the bridge, the government has called for contractors to repair it.

“Though the road is a federal government project, contact has been made immediately to the right channel and they promised to send in the contractor for immediate action,” Alabi was quoted as saying, according to a statement by Modupe Joel, his chief press secretary.
