Vice-President Kashim Shettima, governors of the 36 states of the federation, and top government officials on Wednesday laid wreaths in honour of the fallen heroes to mark the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is observed every January 15 to pay tribute to soldiers who lost their lives while in service.
At Eagle Square in Abuja, Vice-President Shettima represented President Tinubu to honour the fallen heroes.
Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers; Douye Diri of Bayelsa; Bala Mohammed of Bauchi; Dapo Abiodun of Ogun; Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa; Peter Mbah of Enugu; Hyacinth Alia of Benue; and Obafemi Hamzat, deputy governor representing Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, were among the governors who marked the event in their respective states.
