PHOTOS: International flights resume in Lagos — after five months suspension

Five months after Nigeria shut its airspace to international flights, a Middle East Airline flight from Beirut, Lebanon, was the first to land at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Saturday.

The flight which landed at 2:27pm got a water cannon welcome from the airport fire service.

When TheCable visited the Murtala Muhammed International airport on Saturday, passengers were seen observing COVID-19 protocols by using face masks, hand sanitiser and luggage getting disinfected.

Airport officials also ensured that passengers maintained social distancing.

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has already released guidelines for the resumption of international flights including a schedule for flight operations.
