Former President Goodluck Jonathan paid a visit to President Muhammadu Buhari at Aso rock to brief him on the new political crisis in Mali.
Bashir Ahmad, aide to the president on new media, shared photos of Buhari and Jonathan meeting at the state house on his Twitter page.
He said the former leader’s visit was to brief the president on the fresh political crisis in Mali.
“President @MBuhari receives former President @GEJonathan today. The former leader was at the State House, Abuja to brief the President over the new political crisis in Mali. An ECOWAS delegation led by GEJ was in Bamako, the capital of Mali on Tuesday, for mediation,” he wrote.

On Monday, Mali’s interim President Bah N’Daw and Prime Minister Moctar Ouane were detained by soldiers following a coup. After three days in detention, they were released.
