PHOTOS: Jonathan, John Mahama meet with Nigerian presidential candidates to ‘sue for peace’

Goodluck Jonathan and John Mahama, former presidents of Nigeria and Ghana, respectively, on Monday, led delegates from the West African Elders Forum (WAEF) on a visit to four presidential candidates in Nigeria.

The candidates who were visited are Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Also on the delegation were Boni Yayi, former president of Benin; Fatoumata Tambajang, former vice-president of The Gambia; and Kadre Ouedraogo, former prime minister of Burkina Faso.

In a tweet on his official handle, Jonathan said the delegation visited the presidential candidates to sue for peace amid the protests over the collation of results of Nigeria’s general election.
