Seyi Makinde, Oyo state governor, and his Ondo counterpart, Rotimi Akeredolu, have visited Shasha market.
There has been tension in the area after an ethnic clash led to the death of one person, while several properties were destroyed.
Makinde had ordered the closure of the market on Saturday.
Ngozi Onadeko, Oyo commissioner of police, was also present during the visit of the governors on Sunday.
