PHOTOS: NEMA receives 167 Nigerians repatriated from Libya

The Lagos territorial office of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) says it has received 167 Nigerians repatriated from Libya.

In an X post on Wednesday, the agency stated that the returnees include 77 males, 69 females, 10 children, and 11 infants.

The agency added that the returnees arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at about 3:51 p.m. on Wednesday.

“In furtherance of the evacuation of stranded and vulnerable Nigerians from Libya by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), the NEMA Lagos Territorial Office (LTO), in collaboration with other stakeholders, received the returnees,” the post reads.

“In line with the humanitarian voluntary return initiative, the returnees arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Cargo Terminal, at approximately 1551 hours aboard an Al-Buraq Boeing 787-500 with registration number: 5A-DMG.”
