PHOTOS: NGOs clean up beach in Lagos to mark World Environment Day

Mondo4Africa, a non-governmental organisation, was joined by other NGOs on Saturday, in a plastic waste clean-up exercise in Lagos to celebrate the 2021 World Environment Day.

The World Environment Day is celebrated annually on June 5.

The theme of this year’s celebration is “Ecosystem Restoration”, and the event was held at Elegushi private beach, Lekki.

Selected athletes also participated in a competition, which was tagged, “A Race Against Plastic Pollution”.

Other NGOs that participated in the clean-up include SWEEP foundation, Beach Race Club, and The CocaCola foundation .
