A bridge linking Nigeria and Cameroon has been inaugurated at the border in Mfum/Ekok, Cross River state.
The inauguration event, which held on Thursday, was attended by Babatunde Fashola, Nigeria’s minister of works; Zubairu Dada, Nigeria’s minister of state for foreign affairs who represented President Muhammadu Buhari; and Emmanuel Djoumessi, Cameroon’s minister of public works who represented President Paul Biya.
Construction of the bridge began in 2017 and was completed in 2021.
A new joint border post was also inaugurated on Thursday.

The bridge is part of efforts to boost trade between both countries.
