Protests and campaigns calling for the proscription of the special anti-robbery squad (SARS) over alleged harassment and extrajudicial killing of the citizens have entered its second day in various cities across the country.

The renewed protests against SARS started gaining momentum on Saturday after a video showing a man allegedly gunned down in Delta by operatives of the police unit went viral.

Several celebrities have joined those clamouring for the proscription of SARS, citing the ceaseless nightmares the police unit has caused Nigerians.

Mr Macaroni and other youths also staged an overnight protest at the  Lagos state house of assembly in Alausa, Ikeja — with Mudashiru Obasa, the speaker, summoning an emergency parliament meeting amid the continued protests.

They reconvened in Alausa on Friday to continue the protest.
