The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited says its subsidiary, the Nigerian Gas Marketing Limited, on Tuesday, inaugurated a 150 million standard cubic feet per day (mmsccfd) natural gas city gate facility in Ogun state.
The inauguration was in partnership with Transit Gas Nigeria Limited (TGNL), a subsidiary of Axxela.
In a tweet on Wednesday, the national oil company said Dapo Abiodun, the state governor, inaugurated the facility, which is located in Ibefun community.
NNPC said the infrastructure is expected to supply natural gas to industrial and commercial clusters in Ogun and other surrounding neighborhoods in the south-west region.

Justin Ezeala, managing director, NGML, representing Mele Kyari, group chief executive officer (GCEO), NNPC Limited, said the strategic move marked another effort by the national oil firm to pursue the federal government’s decade of gas, by boosting access to affordable, sustainable, and clean energy sources to support industrialisation, economic growth, and development.
On his part, Bolaji Osunsanya, chief executive officer, Axxela, described the facility as a game-changing project that would offer cost-effective and sustainable energy to the businesses and industries within state and surrounding environs.
