A gas-laden tanker has crashed at Peter Agha Street Junction, Isolo axis of Lagos state.

The accident happened on Tuesday morning.

The truck was said to have skidded off the road and spilled its content.

Confirming the incident, Ogabi Olajide, deputy head of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, said firefighters mobilised to the area deployed chemical foam to neutralise the gas content.

Olajide said the incident is a lone accident and that the road has been cleared to avoid traffic gridlock.

“The emergency alert which was reported at 07.00 hours Tuesday, saw the Isolo Fire Crew raise down to rescue the situation of the 8 tonnes liquefied petroleum Gas peddler truck, which reportedly swerved and skidded off the road causing leakage of the contents,” he said.

“The firefighters, however, deployed copious chemical foam compound to neutralize the atmospheric condition of the area and that of the potency of the gas from causing any secondary incident.”
