Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), celebrated Christmas with internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Abagana camp in Benue state.
Speaking with the over 10,000 IDPs in the camp, Obi expressed concerns about their living conditions.
The former Anambra governor said his visit was to encourage them to be hopeful, adding that their plight will soon come to an end.
“What you are passing through is what Nigeria is passing through,” NAN quoted him as saying.

“As long as you remain here in the camp, Nigeria is not doing well. As long as you remain in the IDP camp, Nigeria is in IDP. I cannot celebrate while you are in camps hence the decision to celebrate with you.”
The presidential candidate was said to have donated the sum of N3 million to the camp.
