Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has voted at his polling unit in Agulu ward 2, Anaocha LGA of Anambra state.
Obi, who is one of the leading presidential candidates in the elections, cast his vote around 11:43 am amid cheers from his supporters.
Addressing journalists shortly after, the former governor said he was passionate about serving the people.
“It is by God’s grace that I am here. The first thing that I will do if I win is to thank God. I just want to serve the people. I want to show compassion. I want to help people out of poverty,” he said.

In January, Obi promised to end “poverty cycling” in Nigeria if elected by turning the country from consumption to production.
“The reason my manifesto is centred on turning the country from consumption to production is to stop the country from recycling poverty,” he had said.
Obi’s major opponents in the election include Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
