On Thursday, Ishaq Bello, a judge of a federal high court in Abuja, sentenced two policemen to death over the killings of six traders in Apo district, Abuja, on June 7, 2005.
Five officers – Danjuma Ibrahim, Othman Abdulsalami, Nicholas Zakaria, Ezekiel Acheneje, Baba Emmanuel and Sadiq Salami – were arraigned on a nine-count charge of conspiracy and culpable homicide.
But Ezekiel Acheneje and Baba Emmanuel were convicted, while the remaining three were discharged.
