PHOTOS: Osinbajo visits scene of Kano gas explosion

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, on Tuesday, visited the scene of a gas explosion that occurred in Kano state.

Nine bodies were recovered, while some other persons sustained injuries during the incident which occurred earlier on Tuesday.

Osinbajo, who is in Kano to meet with delegates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on his presidential bid, commiserated with the victims’ families.

“We are here to first find out for ourselves what has happened and then also, commiserate with residents here and the families who lost some members and had children who were injured,” he said.

“I’m told that this was a blast and nine in all died as a result of the incident.

“This is a very, very sad and very unfortunate development, and just to say how deeply regrettable this is.”

Also present during the visit was Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano; Nasiru Gawuna, deputy governor of the state, as well as security operatives and officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
