PHOTOS: Passengers walk in rain as students block roads to Lagos airport over ASUU strike

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), on Monday, blocked the roads leading to the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos.

The development left passengers who had flights to catch with no option but to walk to the airport — even though it was raining.

The students were protesting the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

ASUU has been on strike since February 14 over the federal government’s failure to meet its demands, including on issues relating to the funding of universities and lecturers’ salaries and allowances.

Meanwhile, the national industrial court has fixed Wednesday to rule on a suit filed by the federal government against the union over the strike.
