First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has implored Nigerians to extend kindness and generosity without expecting recognition.
Speaking at an iftar (breaking of fast) event at the State House, Abuja, she emphasised the importance of selfless service, saying acts of kindness should be carried out without seeking validation.
According to a statement issued on Friday by Busola Kukoyi, her media aide, the first lady noted that goods deeds must be done “in worship to Almighty Allah without seeking acknowledgment or validation from the beneficiaries”.
The iftar lecture, themed ‘Role of Compassion and Mercy in Human Relations’, focused on the significance of kindness and empathy in society.

Delivering the lecture, Azeezat Adebayo, head of the Islamic Studies at the Department at the University of Ilorin, described compassion and mercy as the bedrock of human relations.
She said Ramadan serves as a time of reflection and an opportunity to strengthen these values.
Adebayo also stressed that acts of kindness should not be limited to members of the Islamic faith alone, adding that extending goodwill to others brings greater rewards.
