PHOTOS: Rohr relaxes as Eguavoen trains home-based Eagles for Mexico friendly

The home-based Super Eagles players have begun training for next month’s international friendly against Mexico with Austin Eguavoen, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) technical director, leading the squad.

Gernot Rohr, Eagles head coach, was also present at the team’s camp in Abuja on Wednesday, but he watched the training session from the stands with other spectators.

The Franco-German, who had earlier delegated the function to Eguavoen, only visited the players after the conclusion of their first training session to offer admonition.

On Monday, 25 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) players were invited to camp ahead of the friendly match which will hold at LA Coliseum in Los Angeles.

Only 22 of them will make the final list of players to participate in the game billed for 4 am Nigerian time on July 4.

The Eagles will be looking for their first victory over Mexico in their fifth encounter, having drawn three and lost one in their previous encounters.
