PHOTOS: Sanwo-Olu, Uba Sani, Wike shine at THISDAY awards night

Five governors were named as the governors of the year at THISDAY’s 30th commemoration awards ceremony.

The awards ceremony held on Monday at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, was attended by ministers, chieftains of political parties, and entrepreneurs.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Uba Sani of Kaduna, Peter Mbah of Enugu, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, and Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom were celebrated as governors of the year.

President Bola Tinubu was named the man of the year while Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, director-general of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), was named woman of the year.

Nyesom Wike, minister of the federal capital territory (FCT), was awarded the minister of the year.

Adams Oshiomhole and Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan clinched the senators of the year award category.

The lifetime achievement award was given to Biodun Shobanjo, Aminu Bello Masari, Fola Adeola, Udoma Udo Udoma, Mustapha Chike-Obi, Atedo Peterside, Mohammed Hayatu-deen, David Mark, Chris Okele, former President Goodluck Jonathan, Hakeem Bello-Osagie, Yemi Ogunbiyi, Ango Abdullahi, Martin Luther Agwai, Maryam Inna Ciroma, Mariam Mukhtar, Daisy Danjuma, Eniola Fadayomi, the late Herbert Wigwe, and Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.
