Bukola Saraki, the senate president, has hosted an iftar gathering (breaking of fast) for lawmakers in the eight assembly.
In a post on his X handle, Saraki said he was happy to reunite and catch up with his colleagues in his Abuja residence on Sunday.
“It’s just a few months shy of 10 years since our inauguration in 2015—yet our camaraderie remains strong,” Saraki wrote.
“Yesterday, I had the pleasure of hosting my distinguished colleagues from the 8th Senate for Iftar at my home in Abuja. It’s always a joy to reunite, catch up, and enjoy each other’s company. I appreciate them all for honouring my invitation.”

Saraki led the eight senate from 2015 to 2019, with Ike Ekweremadu as his deputy.
He was a two-term senator representing Kwara-central, but lost his bid to return for a third term in the February 2019 election to Ibrahim Oloriegbe.
