Kashim Shettima, the vice-president; Julius Abure, national chairman of the Labour Party (LP); and Umar Damagum, acting national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), among others, are seated as the presidential election tribunal commences its ruling.
Abure is representing LP, May Agbamuche is representing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Shettima is representing himself as 3rd respondent, while Abdullahi Ganduje, national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), is representing his party.
Also present in court are Yahaya Bello, governor of Kogi state; Hope Uzodinma, governor of Imo; Biodun Oyebanji, governor of Ekiti; and Mai Mala Buni, governor of Yobe.
Haruna Tsammani, one of the judges, has started reading the judgment in the petition filed by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), at the time of reporting.

The case of the APM hinged solely on the non-qualification of President Bola Tinubu and Shettima to contest the February 25, 2023 election.
