PHOTOS: Shettima, Atiku, Obi attend funeral of Yar’Adua’s mother in Katsina

Dada Yar’Adua, the mother of the former late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, was buried in Katsina on Tuesday.

She died on Monday at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina, after a brief illness at the age of 102 years.

She was the wife of Musa Yar’Adua — the minister of Lagos affairs from 1963 to 1966 — who died in 1993.

In her lifetime, the centenarian produced a president, two-term governor, vice-president, minister, major general, and a colonel, among others.

The funeral prayer was held at the Katsina township stadium, Yar’Adua quarters.

Vice-President Kashim Shettima and former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar were among the dignitaries who attended the burial.

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections; Tajudeen Abbas, the speaker of the house of representatives; and Dikko Radda, governor of Katsina, were also in attendance.

Also in attendance were Datti Baba-Ahmed, Obi’s running mate in the 2023 elections; Aminu Tambuwal, senator representing Sokoto south; Adamu Aliero, former governor of Kebbi; Dahiru Mangal, chairman of Max Airline; and family members: friends and residents of Katsina.
