PHOTOS: Showdown as Sowore, Ezenwa AAC factions face off at INEC HQ

Members of the African Alliance Congress (AAC) faced off at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Abuja on Monday.

A faction led by Omoyele Sowore squared up with Leonard Ezenwa’s group over the tussle for recognition by the electoral umpire.

The faction headed by Sowore is seeking recognition as the legitimate faction — but INEC had already recognised the group led by Ezenwa.

TheCable had reported how Sowore was suspended from the party in 2019 over “failure to convene national executive council (NEC) meeting, financial misappropriation and other anti-party activities”.

Sowore had subsequently announced the suspension of top members of the party and the expulsion of Nzenwa.

Here are photos of both groups protesting at INEC headquarters.

  1. Sowore again? Must every story be about the tortoise? Then this recurring decimal of financial misappropriation on someone who aspires to rule Nigeria must be looked into. Or could he just be playing to the gallery in politics?
