Suspected bandits kidnapped 317 students from Government Girls Secondary School in Zamfara state in the early hours of Friday.

The attack, which took place in Jangebe, Talata-Mafara local government area of the state, sent shock waves across the country.

Nigerians were stunned to wake up to the news — while yet to recover from the recent abductions of 27 students from Government Secondary School, Kagara, Niger state.

During a visit to the school premises, hours after the incident, TheCable found it in a state of abandonment.

“The whole thing happened so fast. It was so shocking, no one could believe it,” a resident said.
