Happy faces, beautiful attires, radiant colour mixes, music, dance and an artistic display and representation of culture serenaded Oyo town on Saturday as the ancient kingdom gathered to celebrate the coronation of its new Alaafin.
Abimbola Owoade was crowned the 46th Alaafin of Oyo by Seyi Makinde, the state governor, putting an end to 35 months of wait.
The event was attended by several traditional rulers including Muhammad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto; Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ooni of Ife; Abdulrasheed Akanbi, Oluwo of Iwo; Tsola Emiko, Olu of Warri.
Other dignitaries included Gani Adams, Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland; Adebayo Adelabu, minister of power; Zacch Adedeji, the executive chairman of FIRS.
